There were believable and vivid though. POVs: One point of view is central command as the one likable low level character tries to cut through the bureaucracy of obstinate superiors and the chain of errors to rescue the crew. As I said, a good basic story but overwritten to the point where the tension was lost under too many words. I cannot recommend it and will not read it again. The only reasons I read it so fast were it was too hot to go outside and build, and I speed read it.

Tartarus: The Prison of The Damned - (Greek Mythology Explained)

I think this one could have been told in half as many pages. But it has a good basic underlying story and, once I kicked into speed reading mode, was reasonably interesting and at times exciting. Premise: Shuttles with life support but no other motive functions are instantly sent from a central command to previously mapped planets.
